5 EXCELLENT EATS AT ONE HOLLAND VILLAGE

Including pet-friendly places!
Surely by now you’ve heard of One Holland Village — a breezy, open-air shopping mall and one of Singapore’s happening hangouts. If you haven’t been yet, you might not know just how conveniently located it is (right by the Holland Village MRT station) or that it boasts a variety of pet-friendly establishments.

These reasons and more make One Holland Village an ideal place to grab a bite to eat at just about any time of the day. Craving Japanese food for lunch? Come on through. Walking your dog late in the afternoon? No problem. Need a fix of artisanal doughnuts? You know where to go. Gastronomically speaking, One Holland Village has it all.

Here are just five of the many exceptional places to eat at OHV, including two that are pet-friendly:

Maze Soba Hototogisu
#02-45 One Holland Village

World-renowned and Michelin-starred ramen chef Atsushi Yamamoto first rose to prominence in 2006 with Konjiki Hototogisu, an eight-seat soba house in a back alley of Tokyo’s Hatagaya neighbourhood. Now, he’s bringing his excellent soba to the world, including here in Singapore. Yamamoto-san also oversees Maze Soba Hototogisu, a spinoff that specialises in dry soba, and is located on the second floor of One Holland Village.

Matsukiya
#03-21 One Holland Village

Why fly to Japan just to get some good yakitori when a trip to One Holland Village will do? Cooked up by the same folks behind Sushi Tei, Matsukiya is a concept that specialises in kushiyaki — grilled skewers including yakitori — over white charcoal, or bincho-tan. Order an assortment of chicken, vegetable, pork, and beef skewers, or go with its other grilled specialties like onigiri, tebasaki, and even wagyu over bincho-tan.

Little Pond

#02-32 One Holland Village

Need your fix of suan cai yu? Little Pond is a great place to get it. Their Golden Sauerkraut Fish pot is chock-full of fresh snakehead fish slices, drenched in rich, tangy suan cai broth. And if any of your mealtime companions aren’t inclined, there’s always Little Pond’s other specialty: the spicy prawn pot. Punctuate your meal by brewing a custom cup of tea using the dried fruits, flowers, and leaves at their tea counter.

Sourbombe Bakery (Pet-friendly!)
#01-27 One Holland Village

There are tons of great artisanal bakeries in Singapore, but what makes Sourbombe Bakery special is the sourbombe itself — a decadent mashup of the Italian bomboloni (spherical doughnuts stuffed with pastry cream) and sourdough. Created by Singapore MasterChef runner-up Gen Lee, sourbombes are a perfectly sweet treat you can enjoy while hanging out with your fur baby.

Extra Virgin Pizza (Pet-friendly!)
#01-03/04/05 One Holland Village

Take another trip to Italy by way of Singapore when you dine at Extra Virgin Pizza, a Neapolitan pizza joint that prides itself on its perfectionist approach to dough. “Our pies are a love triangle of the freshest ingredients,” they say. “Caputo Nuvola flour, juicy tomatoes, and oozy cheese […] Every bite is packed with a surefire punch.” Our only warning about eating here: you might not want to share the pizza with your furry companion.
