A LETTER FROM YOUR FUR BABY

We need to talk.

Dear Hooman,

Greetings! I really hope this letter finds you well. Because you can be hard to find sometimes, Hooman. Where do you go, and why do you always take forever to come back?

But I digress. I’m writing to bring to your attention a request I have been making for some time now. I keep trying to talk to you about it, but all you do is ruffle my fur and reply in unintelligible gibberish. While I appreciate the affection, “Hoozagoodboiii” simply does not move our conversation forward. (Also, I’m already well enough aware that I am, in fact, a very good boi.)

As such I have elected to send you a letter instead, so that we may formally discuss the details of my request.

Specifically, I would like to ask that we spend our weekends in a pet-friendly mall, with ample accommodations for me and my friends. Heretofore, when we go out, I need to wait outside every time you enter a mall. I confess to having felt what I believe you hoomans call “FOMO.” And so I’d like us to go to a mall that I can enjoy, too.

I understand that such malls may be in short supply here in Singapore. So, I have taken it upon myself to identify and recommend an option for your consideration: One Holland Village. It’s a pet-friendly mall with features that are paw-fect for me. (Hah! See what I did there?) My tail wags uncontrollably just thinking about it. Allow me to make the case.

Sprawling Outdoor Space
One Holland Village has grass patches and open-air spaces for running and playing — two of my favourite activities. I understand you have a hard time keeping up with me, Hooman, but we both know you need the exercise, so I think this will be a win-win.

Fur Baby Parking Spots
Fine. While you shop at your hooman stores, I can wait for you at any of One Holland Village’s designated leash hooks (or “parking spots,” as I like to call them), and you can rest assured I won’t make a mad dash for some bird or pretty poodle passerby. (Ugh. That was one time! Let it go, hooman.)

Fur Baby Water Dispensers
Do you think only hoomans know the value of staying hydrated, especially in sunny Singapore? It’s been a big thing among us fur babies too, long before you all started carrying those flasks. Good thing One Holland Village has pet-friendly water dispensers!

Fur Baby-friendly Lifts
Even the lifts at One Holland Village are designed with us in mind! Fur babies smol or lorge can take the lifts when we’re tired of walking around, which is all the time, because places are far, and our legs aren’t as long as yours. Please be considerate.

Fur Baby Shopping
Soon to open at One Holland Village is Vetreska, a chic New York brand of fur baby goods and accessories. It’s the first of its kind in Singapore, so I’m excited to check it out and make you spend our money. (Before you interject, yes, it’s our money.) One Holland Village will also have a Surrey Hills Grocer, which has the kind of treats I love; and a Plain Meredith, which is a café with menus for both hoomans and fur babies.

A Place to Party
In fact, One Holland Village is such a good place for fur babies to hang out that a bunch of you hoomans have put together a big celebration that we can all enjoy together. It’s called the Pet Paw-ty and it’s happening from 15 to 17 December. There will be a Christmas market full of pet supplies for us to shop, plus activities like a photo booth, a dress-up event, and a talent competition. A talent competition! We should totally go to this, Hooman, because I’d very much like to show an audience that I know how to shake your hand. I’m sure everyone will be mighty impressed.

I hope the items outlined above sufficiently make the case for a visit to One Holland Village. I’m really, really excited to go, and I hope you are too, Hooman. I’m confident that you and I can make a lot of good memories there.

Sincerely,
Your Fur Baby
