Ree and Mummy by Celine Ng at Baker X @ Orchard Central

 

 

Our fourth baker at Baker X @ Orchard Central is Ree and Mummy, operating from 22 Feb to 6 Mar 2022. We spoke to the founder, Celine Ng, to find out more about her baking journey.

 

Ree and Mummy was founded by Celine Ng, who was a property agent until she became a full-time baker in May 2021. Baking brings her joy, something that she doesn’t get from selling houses, which led her to go into baking full time even if it’s more tiring. Her daughter, Reeyern (“Ree” and Mummy), was Celine’s motivation behind the entire start-up. With everyone in her family being extremely supportive of her new baking venture, Celine hopes to be able to achieve the level of success that her family can be proud of.

It has always been on Celine’s mind what it would be like operating in a café setting and Baker X came as a great opportunity for Ree and Mummy to gain more exposure and for Celine to experience café operations. Celine has never thought of becoming a baker and what more opening a café, this initiative will definitely allow her to gain knowledge on being a baker, cashier, service crew, cleaner, and business planner!

Ree and Mummy will be offering their all-time favourite Pineapple Burnt Cheesecake, which is the first of its kind in Singapore, Caramel Biscoff Cheesecake, Macadamia Nuts Cheesecake, and their Signature Almond Pecan Toffee, as well as The Breakthrough Box with its unique personal experience. Baker X @ Orchard Central is a project to give budding home-baking entrepreneurs the opportunity to trial with a physical outlet and scale their business.

 

Through this initiative, Far East Organization aims to encourage the entry of new brands and enhance the business ecosystem in Singapore by providing customers with more choices and encouraging greater diversity.

 

Bakers work in a fully equipped baking studio and café, a physical space provided to them at no cost, over a period of 2 to 6 weeks to bake and sell.
