Baker X @ Orchard Central
Baker X @ Orchard Central is a project to give budding home-baking entrepreneurs the opportunity to trial with a physical outlet and scale their business.
Through this initiative, Far East Organization aims to encourage the entry of new brands and enhance the business ecosystem in Singapore by providing customers with more choices and encouraging greater diversity.
Bakers work in a fully equipped baking studio and café, a physical space provided to them at no cost, over a period of 2 to 6 weeks to bake and sell. The cafe also houses home-based e-commerce coffee business, Sabana Coffee, which opens on Wednesday to Sunday from 12pm to 7pm, closed on public holidays.

Our next baker is Cassia Canelés, operating from 11 December 2024 to 5 February 2024. We spoke to founder, Cheryll, to find out more about her journey.
Cassia Canelés
Cheryll, the founder of Cassia Canelés, was born in Singapore and raised in Jakarta, Singapore, and the United States. While pursuing a degree in Finance, she developed a passion for baking, spending countless hours experimenting with recipes. After working corporate jobs in Silicon Valley, Cheryll made the bold decision to follow her heart and pursue her passion full-time.
Established in 2019, Cassia Canelés specialises in crafting the iconic Bordeaux delicacy, the canelé. Their canelés are celebrated for their unique texture, featuring a crisp, caramelized exterior and a soft, custardy interior. In addition to their signature canelés, they also offer financiers, delicate French almond cakes.
From Jakarta to Singapore, Cassia Canelés has cultivated a loyal following, not through grand gestures but through the warmth of their offerings and personalized service. Their canelés are not only a delightful treat for oneself but also perfect for gifting. Over the years, they have catered to esteemed clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Franck Muller, and LVMH, solidifying their reputation for quality and craftsmanship.

Large Canelés will come in boxes of 4 or 6, while Petite Canelés will be available in boxes of 8.
