Baker X @ Orchard Central

Baker X @ Orchard Central is a project to give budding home-baking entrepreneurs the opportunity to trial with a physical outlet and scale their business.

Through this initiative, Far East Organization aims to encourage the entry of new brands and enhance the business ecosystem in Singapore by providing customers with more choices and encouraging greater diversity.

Bakers work in a fully equipped baking studio and café, a physical space provided to them at no cost, over a period of 2 to 6 weeks to bake and sell. The cafe also houses home-based e-commerce coffee business, Sabana Coffee, which opens on Wednesday to Sunday from 10am to 5:30pm, closed on public holidays.

Our next baker is Petit Goûter, operating from 5 April to 1 May 2025. We spoke to founder, Ecclesia, to find out more about her journey.

Petit Goûter

From a childhood dream, nurtured amidst the charming patisseries of Europe, Petit Goûter emerged, a home bakery nestled in the heart of Singapore. The story begins with Ecclesia, a Singaporean, shaped by years spent absorbing the culinary artistry of Switzerland and France. It was in Paris, under the tutelage of Le Cordon Bleu, that her passion for pastry truly blossomed.

Upon her return, Ecclesia sought to share the essence of European baking, a focus on the purity of flavours and the elegance of simplicity. Established in 2023, Petit Goûter became her avenue for this, a place where classic bakery favourites were given a delicate, European touch.

By day, she navigated the complexities of corporate life. By evening, however, her kitchen transformed into a sanctuary of creation. There, amidst the gentle whir of mixers and the comforting aroma of baking, she would experiment, refine, and perfect. Each creation, a testament to her dedication, a harmonious blend of her European inspiration and her innate, Singaporean warmth.

Petit Goûter will be offering their best-selling signature bakes and Baker X exclusives - perfect for an afternoon treat!

Their menu features a range of Classic Cookies, including dark chocolate chip, milk chocolate chip and white chocolate chip. For those seeking something a little more indulgent, the Premium Cookie selection boasts flavours such as raspberry white chocolate kisses, chocolate caramel, matcha dream and strawberry matcha.

Petit Goûter also provides Premium Bakes, with options like rich blackout brownies, the hybrid brookie meet-cute and a classic lemon drizzle gâteau.

For a limited time, exclusively at Baker X, customers can enjoy their Easter-Eggsclusive spiced carrot cake. Finally, for a truly bespoke experience, customers can opt for the Cookie Pick n Mix afternoon tea box, allowing them to select any eight items from the cakes, brownies, and cookie range.
