Our 26th baker at Baker X @ Orchard Central is Twice Young, operating from 22 November to 21 December 2023. We spoke to founder, Kimberley, to find out more about her journey.

Founded by food blogger, Kimberley Yeo, who co-founded Don Play Play, Twice Young is dedicated to creating luxurious palate-pleasing sweet treats for both humans and doggos. Inspired by her time abroad in Melbourne, London, and Europe with her pup, Snuffles, Kimberley has crafted unique ice cream flavours not found anywhere else, just about the perfect chocolate chip cookie, and the most premium ice cream for dogs in Singapore. And now, she’s adding a crumble bar to the mix! 

Kimberley is extremely particular about the ingredients that goes into the food that she and Snuffles consume, so you can be sure that only the finest ingredients sourced from all over the world are used in her creations — think Bronte pistachio from the soils of Mount Etna in Sicily, first flush hojicha from Kyoto, grade A Tahitian vanilla beans and more.

Kimberley saw Baker X as a great opportunity to test out if her business can work as a café concept and boosting brand awareness and introducing Twice Young’s offerings to new customers.

Twice Young will be offering their Brown Butter Fleur de Sel Cookies, signature Handcrafted Small-Batch Ice Cream and the all-new Crumble Bar. 

Handcrafted Small-Batch Ice Cream will be available in five flavours 1) Kyoto Hojicha, Dark Chocolate, Roasted Almond 2) Italian Espresso, Sicilian Pistachio Fudge, Roasted Pistachio 3) Roasted Bronte Pistachio, Cacao Nibs 4) Fresh Passionfruit, Fresh Mint Sorbet 5) Pure Tahitian Vanilla.

The all-new Crumble Bar will be available in four flavours. Opt for the classic Freshly Baked Apple Crumble or get it with Warm Vanilla Custard, Bruléed Vanilla Custard or Pure Tahitian Vanilla Ice Cream. You can also top it off with Organic Rose Petals!

Baker X @ Orchard Central is a project to give budding home-baking entrepreneurs the opportunity to trial with a physical outlet and scale their business.

 

Through this initiative, Far East Organization aims to encourage the entry of new brands and enhance the business ecosystem in Singapore by providing customers with more choices and encouraging greater diversity.

 

Bakers work in a fully equipped baking studio and café, a physical space provided to them at no cost, over a period of 2 to 6 weeks to bake and sell. The cafe also houses social enterprise, Tea Ideas, which opens daily.
