Far East Organization has once again been acknowledged for its excellence in real estate design and development at the annual FIABCI World Prix d’Excellence Awards 2018. Presented at the 69th FIABCI World Congress held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 1 May 2018, the jury bestowed Oasia Hotel Downtown the Gold award in the Hotel category. This latest win marks Far East Organization’s 11th awards at the prestigious global competition.

Launched in 1992, the annual FIABCI Awards recognise real estate projects of distinction across 15 categories, including the residential, office, retail and hotel categories, as well as newer categories such as environmental, heritage and sustainable development.

Standout Building
Designed by renowned architecture firm WOHA, the 27-storey, 314-room Oasia Hotel Downtown is a breath of fresh air among the concrete cityscape of Singapore’s Central Business District.

Outside, “living skin” of greenery on the façade provides a natural environment and restores the local ecology. Inside, multiple floors of lush green space provide a soothing, calm environment for guests and brings the lushness of the outdoors within. With a clear emphasis on wellness throughout, the hotel makes the most of architect and renowned designer Patricia Urquiola’s modern, functionalist style. Together, the building’s eco-friendly elements work to mitigate the project’s environmental impact – Oasia Hotel Downtown has an overall green replacement of over 10 times the site area.

The result is a sustainable built environment that harmoniously marries urban development and greenery within a tropical skyscraper nestled deep within Singapore’s bustling downtown.
